Huawei, Bharti Sign US$150 Mln Contract for Sri Lankan GSM Network

According to a China Securities Journal report, China-based Huawei has signed a three-year contract worth US$150 million with Bharti Airtel Lanka, the Sri Lankan subsidiary of India's Bharti Airtel, for the deployment and management of 2G and 3G mobile communications infrastructure in Sri Lanka. In addition to the GSM (Global System for Mobile communications)-based network mentioned above, Huawei will also provide telecom applications and software solutions to Bharti Airtel Lanka.
